Alaska Gov. Sean Parnell is endorsing Joe Miller in the U.S. Senate race, calling him the "principled leader" the state needs in Washington.
Friday's endorsement came during a joint campaign event in Wasilla.
Miller has won support from within the Republican establishment since upsetting Sen. Lisa Murkowski in last month's GOP primary. The Alaska Republican party is standing behind the conservative Miller in spite of Murkowski's decision to run as a Republican write-in candidate. Murkowski is Alaska's senior senator.
Miller also endorsed Parnell, who's seeking to win the office he inherited when Sarah Palin resigned last year. Palin also has endorsed Miller.
Parnell's Democratic rival, Ethan Berkowitz, has criticized Parnell for not standing up for Alaska's seniority in the Senate.
