Former Juneau resident Don I. Briscoe, 74, died Sept. 25, 2005, in Wichita Falls, Texas.
He was born to Isaac Earn and Annie Marie (Fisher) Briscoe Oct. 26, 1930, in Electra, Texas. He married Beverly Jack on Nov. 11, 1966, in Juneau.
He served his country during both the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War. He served in every branch of the United States Armed Forces except the Air Force. He retired from the U.S. Coast Guard. He also retired from teaching science and coaching. He was a former member of the Retired Coaches Association.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Beverly; his children, Don Briscoe Jr. of Seattle, Wash., Becci Llenas and her husband Frank of Monument, Colo., Lori Morrow of Wichita Falls, Cheryl Teague of Wichita Falls, Thomas Briscoe and wife Chris of Helena, Mont., and Anna Evans and husband David of Wichita Falls; and his grandchildren, Joshua, Daniel, Eric, Amanda, Zachary, Aubrey, Aren, Wacy, Ridge, Brandon, Lorianne, Caylin, David, Kristyn and Cody.
Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. today, in the Chapel of Hampton Vaughan Crestview in Wichita Falls.
