Wildflower Court has been recognized as the 2008-2009 recipient of Mountain-Pacific Quality Health's Excellence in Care Award, presented by Sharon Stiassny, director of Mountain-Pacific's Alaska office during the Alaska State Hospital and Nursing Home Association conference held Sept. 10 and 11 in Soldotna.
This is the first year Mountain-Pacific has included nursing homes in its award program which has, in past years recognized hospitals throughout Alaska for their commitment to providing quality care in selected clinical areas.
To qualify for the Excellence in Care Award, which is the highest award possible, nursing homes must improve care on publicly reported measures and be at the 25th percentile or better on high-risk pressure ulcers and physical restraints and achieve a 95% or better level of willing and eligible residents vaccinated for influenza and up-to-date on their pneumococcal vaccinations.
All Alaska nursing homes are eligible for quality awards. Wildflower Court was one of three nursing homes in Alaska to receive this honor. For more information about these awards, please contact Pat Fritz at 307-568-2797.
