Sharon A. Parker, born in Sparta, Wis., died on September 25, 2010 at the age of 67 due to complications of kidney disease. She was surrounded by her family. Sharon is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 47 years, Tom of Marysville, Wash. She is also survived by her children, son Randy (Adrianne) of Juneau, daughter Sherri (Gene) of Sedro Woolley, Wash. and son Steve (Felicia) of Chicago.
She is also survived by her grandchildren, Christian and Laura Beth, both of Juneau.
Sharon and Tom lived in Juneau for 25 years, where she raised their three children. She was very active in their lives, serving as both a Boy Scout and Girl Scout leader, scorekeeper at all of the kids baseball and softball games, seamstress for all of Sherri's dance recitals and cheerleader at all of Randy's swim meets. She was also very proud of her son, Steve, and his choice to join the Army at the age of 17. It didn't matter what activity or path her children chose to pursue, she was always very proud of their achievements. She also served as a surrogate mother to many of her children's friends, and as a part-time nurse when necessary.
There were always extra kids at the dinner table and she never blinked an eye. They were always welcome in her home. She still remembered all of them fondly. She also treasured "puppy kisses" from Murphy and cherished her cat, Sabrina.
At Sharon's request, there will be no services. If you would like, donations can be made in Sharon's name to: The Arthritis Foundation for her daughter, Sherri, the Humane Society in your local area or to a charity of your choosing.
