Juneau student receives Whitworth College academic scholarship

Greta Thibodeau of Juneau, has been awarded a $6,000 academic scholarship, which includes a $4,000 Whitworth Scholarship to attend Whitworth College.

The Academic Scholarship is awarded based on the student's maintaining a 3.5 cumulative grade point average in high school, or being in the top 20 percent of the high school graduating class, or scoring 1150 on SAT or 25 on ACT tests.

Among Whitworth's incoming students for fall 2004, the average high school GPA is 3.64 and the average SAT score is 1169. Nearly 50 percent of Whitworth students graduate in the top 10 percent of their high school classes.

Located in Spokane, Wash., Whitworth is a private, liberal arts college. It is noted for providing a rigorous and open education guided by dedicated Christian scholars. The college enrolls 2,300 students in more than 50 undergraduate and graduate programs.
