Shane Howard White, 15, died in Ketchikan on Sept. 25, 2004.
He was born in Ketchikan on Feb. 5, 1989. "His short time with us leaves us with wonderful memories, and we find ourselves wrapped in his love for us," his family writes. "Shane loved skateboarding with his friends and playing his guitar."
Shane is survived by his parents, Vince and Bonnie White of Ketchikan; grandparents, Al and Shirley White and Anne and Larry Johnson, all of Ketchikan, and Jerry and Laurie Germain of Port Hadlock, Wash.; great-grandparents, Bill and Stella White of Melbourne, Fla.; brother and best friend, Blaine White; sister, Kelsey White; aunts and uncles, Bennett and Patricia White, Tom and Tracy White, Brett and Amanda White, Kathy Williams, and Heidi and Ray Bryan, all of Ketchikan; Cindy White of Milwaukie, Ore., Lisa and Alex Viteri and Lance and Kelly White of Juneau; and cousins, Ed, Mike and Jessica Moniak, Alexander Viteri, Ian White, Sara, Shirlee and Stella White, Kayleigh, Zach and Laine White, and Emily Bryan.
A private family service will be held on Thursday, Sept. 30, 2004, at the home of his grandparents on Shoreline Drive. A celebration of Shane's life will be held for family and friends at the Ketchikan High School auditorium at 4 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 30, 2004, with a reception following in the Kayhi commons.
