Lawmaker worried about intersection

ANCHORAGE - State Rep. Max Gruenberg of Anchorage says an accident is waiting to happen at an intersection he considers the most dangerous in his district.

Roughly 25,000 vehicles pass the intersection at Boniface Parkway and Caribou Street each day, and the veteran lawmaker says he's heard concerns from parents who worry about their children crossing the five-lane, 45-mph road.

He is working with the Russian Jack and Northeast Community councils to make the intersection safer.

Ed Leach of the Russian Jack Community Council said the installation of a traffic light is the most popular solution right now, but there are other ideas on the table.
