I'm thankful that Frankie Pillifant is running for re-election to the Assembly. Her record supports kids and making our community a better place.
Frankie has a long history of being involved in our schools. She has boundless energy when creating opportunities for kids and families. For several years she has worked with groups of parents to create a charter school where the curriculum integrates art, drama and music into the school day. In order to make a difference in the lives of children, you have to get involved in the day-to-day tasks. I appreciate Frankie's willingness to get involved on a daily basis as a school volunteer and on the Assembly.
In recent years, Frankie and her husband, Odin, worked together to coordinate a ski program for younger students. Frankie worked tirelessly for Juneau students to make this recreation opportunity a reality. Frankie also supported students on the Assembly in discussions about the school budget, including whether to build another high school, and approving appropriations by the Assembly to fund student success.
In all of these ways and more, Frankie has contributed her time and energy in Juneau kids. She knows that it requires personal commitment to make a difference. Let's make a difference on Oct. 1 by voting for Frankie Pillifant for Assembly. She cares about our kids and community!
