Juneau police, fire officials and state troopers reported:

Driving while intoxicated:

• Andre Joseph Romero, 20, of Anchorage, was arrested for drunken driving at 3:10 a.m. Sunday near Blueberry Hills Road. He also was charged with driving without a license, underage drinking and reckless endangerment. He was lodged at the Lemon Creek Correctional Center.


• A stereo face plate was reported stolen at 10:08 a.m. Saturday from an unlocked vehicle near Nancy Street. The face plate was stolen Sept. 1.

• A gray Nokia cell phone was reported stolen at 1:13 p.m. from Commercial Boulevard.

• About $40 and a bank book were reported stolen at 3:05 a.m. Sunday near Cinema Drive.

Vandalism and criminal mischief:

• Terry L. Simpson, 20, was arrested for second-degree criminal mischief, a felony, at 8:07 p.m. Sunday after someone punched out a window of the Triangle Club on Front Street and fled the scene. Police charged Simpson with the mischief count as well as resisting arrest and minor on a licensed premises, both misdemeanors. Police said he sustained minor lacerations to his right hand from punching the window. No one else was reported injured. Police did not have damage estimates for the broken window. Simpson was lodged at the state prison. Police believe alcohol was a factor.

Underage drinking:

• Police cited a boy, 17, cited for underage drinking at 12:16 a.m. Sunday near Fritz Cove Road.

Vehicle accidents:

• Police cited a man, 43, for failure to maintain a safe distance following a two-vehicle accident at 1:02 p.m. Saturday near Mendenhall Loop Road and Taku Boulevard. The man's 1988 Ford pickup rear-ended a 1995 Toyota pickup. Total damage was about $3,000. No injuries were reported.

• A bicyclist sustained minor injuries when he was struck by a Mazda Protege at 1:32 p.m. Saturday near Mendenhall Loop Road and Mendenhall Mall Road. The Mazda, driven by a man, 18, struck the cyclist as the vehicle turned left onto Mall Road. Police cited the cyclist for crossing against the crosswalk signal. He sustained a scratched shin from the accident. The Mazda sustained no damage. Minor damage was reported to the bike.

Hit-and-run incidents:

• The left quarter panel of a 1994 Ford Ranger was reported struck at 10:03 a.m. Saturday from Aurora Harbor. The vehicle was struck sometime Friday night.

Animal encounters:

• Bears were reported Saturday at 9:36 a.m. near Threadneedle, 10:06 a.m. near Glacier Highway, 10:46 a.m., 11:15 a.m., 11:25 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. near Glacier Highway in Lemon Creek, 1:22 p.m. near 17 mile of Glacier Highway, 1:40 p.m. near Glacier Highway in Lemon Creek, 3:02 p.m. and 6:50 p.m. near Glacier Highway in Lemon Creek and 11:01 p.m. near Sunset Drive.

• Bears were reported Sunday at 12:16 a.m. near F Street, 7:29 a.m. near Aspen Avenue, 8:08 a.m. near Glacier Highway, 10:41 a.m. near Aspen Avenue, 12:51 p.m. near Glacier Highway in Lemon Creek, 1:27 p.m. near Glacier Highway, 4:07 p.m. near Glacier Highway in Lemon Creek, 6:52 p.m. near Williams Express on Glacier Highway, 8:46 p.m. near Haloff Way, 9:28 p.m. near Delta Drive, 10:29 p.m. near Forest Lane and 10:56 p.m. near Threadneedle Street.

• A bear was reported today at 2:04 a.m. near Thunder Mountain Road.
