CHENEGA BAY - Alaska State Troopers said a woman died at the scene after she lost control of a sport utility vehicle at the Chenega Bay Airstrip.

According to Troopers, 32-year-old Lynette Selanoff of Chenega Bay was driving the SUV one night last week when she veered off the runway. The vehicle rolled several times and she was ejected.

Medics found her body in the woods about 75 yards from the vehicle.

A passenger, 25-year-old Kenneth Michener of Kodiak, suffered minor head injuries.

Troopers believe alcohol factored into the crash. Selanoff's body was sent to Anchorage for an autopsy.
