Evening at Egan to focus on government

Posted: Thursday, September 30, 2010

This week's Evening at Egan lecture addresses the question: "Juneau's Government: Should we throw it out and start over?" Beginning at 7 p.m., in the Egan Lecture Hall, UAS professor and Juneau Assembly Member Jonathan Anderson will lead a discussion on how to achieve government "of the people, by the people, and for the people."

When Juneau voters go to the polls Oct. 5 to elect Assembly and School Board members, they will also be asked whether to change their form of government: "Shall there be a Charter Commission to review or amend the Charter?" Join in this exploration of democracy on the UAS Auke Lake campus.

All Evening at Egan lectures are available live via streaming video at http://uatv.alaska.edu/ and simulcast on UA-TV Ch. 11.
