Thefts:

* Police responded to a report at 3:15 p.m. Monday near West Willoughby Avenue of a stolen plastic bag containing paperwork. The bag had an Alaska Airlines logo.

Animal encounters:

* Bears were reported Monday at 8:51 a.m. near the ANB Hall, 7:13 p.m. near North Douglas Highway and Bonnie Brae, 8:38 p.m. near the State Office Building and today at 4:22 a.m. near Second Street.
