Dale E. Nicholas

Former Juneau resident Dale E. Nicholas, 70, died Sept. 27, 2005, surrounded by family at his home in Marysville, Wash.

He was born June 18, 1935, in Hudson, Wis. In Juneau, he was the owner and meat cutter for 27 years at Foodland Inc.

He is survived by his wife, Marlys Nicholas; his daughters, Denise Meek, Kathie Nicholas-Gilbertson, Shelley Swansen and Pam "Tigger" Hayes; his son, Bill Nicholas; his grandchildren, Ciara and Kalen Meek, Steve Caldwell, Jocelyn and Rachael Deach, Jennifer Hayes, and Will, Lauren, Ryan and Taylor Nicholas; and his great-granddaughter, Paige Turner.

A memorial service will be 1 p.m. Oct. 9, at Ken Baxter Senior Center in Marysville.
