FAIRBANKS - It looks like winter has arrived in Alaska's Interior.
Snow fell in Fairbanks on Tuesday. It was the second snowfall of the season. More than an inch of snow was recorded over the weekend at Fairbanks International Airport.
Matthew Kidwell, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service, says sporadic showers were reported at the University of Alaska Fairbanks and Eielson Air Force Base on Tuesday afternoon.
Icy patches and blowing snow also were reported near mile 238 of Richardson Highway, and visibility was reduced on stretches of the Alaska Highway.
More snow is in the forecast later this week.
