Juneau police, fire officials and state troopers reported:
Driving while intoxicated:
Lorinda George, 21, was arrested for drunken driving at 1:02 a.m. today near Belardi Drive and Glacier Highway. She also was charged with two counts of reckless endangerment. She was lodged at the Lemon Creek Correctional Center.
Assaults:
Police arrested a man for domestic violence assault at 1:20 a.m. today near Glacier Highway. Police believe alcohol was a factor. He was lodged at the state prison.
Thefts:
A wallet was reported stolen at 8:39 a.m. Wednesday from a residence near Nowell Avenue.
A purse was reported stolen at 11:18 a.m. Wednesday from a locked vehicle near the Airport Dike Trail trailhead. The window of the vehicle was open a crack at the top, and was forced down to gain access.
A red, white and blue Nokia cell phone was reported stolen at 2:18 p.m. Wednesday from Glacier Avenue. The phone is valued at $220.
An Alpine stereo face plate, valued at $300, was reported stolen from a vehicle parked on Shaune Drive. The plate was stolen Aug. 28.
Rickey Gottardi, 43, was arrested at 10:04 p.m. Wednesday near Aisek Street for second-degree theft, a felony. No other details were immediately available. Police believe alcohol was a factor. He was lodged at the state prison.
Vandalism and criminal mischief:
Plexiglas over a bulletin board was reported broken at 7:54 a.m. Wednesday near Dimond Park. The Plexiglas was broken sometime over the weekend.
A 5-inch rusty nail found embedded in the wheel well of a 2001 Honda was reported at 8:12 a.m. Wednesday near Mendenhall Loop Road.
Vehicle accidents:
A trailer came unhitched from a 1990 Kenworth truck at 7:33 a.m. Wednesday on outbound Egan Drive near Salmon Creek. The trailer temporarily blocked traffic until it was moved.
No one was injured during a two-vehicle accident at 8:01 a.m. Wednesday near Tongass Boulevard. A silver Ford pickup, driven by a woman, 29, backed out of a driveway and into a 1982 brown Ford LTD, driven by a woman, 37. The truck sustained minor damage while the LTD sustained $1,000 in damage.
Police issued two citations following a two-vehicle accident at 1:47 p.m. Wednesday near Stephen Richards Drive and Riverside Drive. A 1997 GMC van, driven by a man, 19, struck a 1988 Chevrolet, driven by a woman, 23. Police cited the man for failure to yield on a left turn. The woman was cited for driving with a revoked license. The van sustained $2,000 in damage and the Chevrolet sustained $2,500 in damage.
Animal encounters:
Bears were reported Wednesday at 9:40 p.m. near Mendenhall Loop Road and 10 p.m. near Amalga Street.
