More than 1,000 pounds of toys were delivered to Bartlett Regional Hospital by the Southeast Alaska Panhandlers Motorcycle Club following the annual Toy Run on Sept. 23. Now known as the Bob Valliant Annual Toy Run, in honor of the late Bartlett Regional Hospital chief executive officer and motorcycle enthusiast, the event is a collaboration of the motorcycle club and the Douglas Volunteer Fire Department. The club also gave Bartlett Regional Hospital a $750 cash donation toward the purchase of more toys, so that every child treated at Bartlett could receive a toy. Receiving the contributions were community relations director Michelle Casey and new hospital CEO Shawn Morrow, foreground left, and Chief Financial Officer Garth Hamlin, right.
