Unitarian Fellowship holds forum on the hidden faces of poverty in Juneau

Posted: Sunday, October 03, 2010

The Social Justice Committee of Juneau's Unitarian Universalist Fellowship has chosen poverty as its focus of work this year. A series of forums will be held beginning today. All are open to the public.

Today's focus will be on food and shelter. Scott Ciambor, director of the Juneau Homeless Coalition, and Darren Adams from the Alaska Southeast Food Bank will be the panelists and will lead the audience in a discussion that aims to not only heighten awareness but invite solutions. The forum will take place at 10 a.m. today at the Temple Sukkat Shalom, 211 Cordova Street.

In an event on Dec. 5, the forum will examine the effect of homelessness and hunger on children.
