Floyd Dryden fund-raiser set

Floyd Dryden Middle School students will soon be participating in a major fall fund-raiser. Once again, students will be turning to parents, friends and neighbors in hopes of selling magazine subscriptions. The fund-raiser not only sells new subscriptions but also can be used to renew or extend existing ones.

Fund-raisers, such as this one, are extremely important in helping PTO's raise money for many activities or items that are needed within local schools. Last year, the Floyd Dryden PTO was able to purchase archery and computer equipment, slide projectors, additional astronomy supplies which enhance students' educations.

Dog obedience meeting slated

The 4-H Dog Obedience Club starts at 6 p.m. on Oct. 7 at Dzantik'i Middle School and will run through early December. There will be weekly Monday meetings. Dogs can be as young as 4-months-old to enter the program. For more information on the program, call Gayle Haynes, a National Association of Dog Obedience instructor at 789-0694.
