Olga Sofia Lijo Serans, of Carballosa, Spain, and Robert Glenn Sewell Jr., of Juneau, were married Aug. 1, 2009, on the North Douglas beach at high tide. The honorable Jason Caputo, marriage commissioner-for-a-day, presided.

The bride is the daughter of Benjamin Lijo Pinazas and Maria del Pilar Serans Lijo, both of Spain and now residing in New York. Olga is a graduate of the Universidade de A Coruna and the Universidade de Santiago de Compostela.

The groom is the son of Robert and Rowene Sewell, both deceased. He holds a doctorate in behavior analysis from Western Michigan University and works as health program manager in the Section of Health Planning and Systems Development for the Alaska Department of Health and Social Services.

The matron of honor was Kari Groven, Norwegian Princess. Lauren Elise Brooks, the groom's daughter, was the bridesmaid.

Richard Sewell, the groom's brother, was best man, and the able groomsman was Luke Michael Sewell, the groom's son.

A raucous celebration was held that evening at the Juneau Arts & Culture Center. The couple wish to thank all those who attended, especially the musicians, including Robert Cohen, George Wallace, Doug Bridges, Kari Groven, Jason Caputo, Albert McDonald, Chris Frary, Patrick Murphy, Patricia Hull, Dale McFarlin, Lee Hacker and Ed Littlefield.

The couple will continue life with Luke in Douglas and will honeymoon this late winter in Argentina.
