Thanks for contributing to the All Cannery Reunion Dinner
The Central Council Tlingit & Haida Indian Tribes of Alaska's Elderly Services Program of the Tribal Family and Youth Services Department would like to thank the local organizations and community members who contributed to the "2009 All Cannery Reunion Dinner" held on Sept. 18 at the Alaska Native Brotherhood Hall. This event was funded by the Administration on Aging Title VI grant.
Congratulations to Master of Ceremonies Andy Ebona and musician Betty Marvin, who were crowned the "2009 Mr. and Ms. Cannery Reunion." Judges were Eunice Akagi, Ernestine Denny and Dorothy Owen.
A special thank you to the co-sponsors, Tlingit & Haida Elders' Caregiver Council for their participation in the planning and implementation of this event: Connie Munro, Francine Eddy Jones, Fausto Paulo, George Williams, Doug Fanyak, Marianne Mills, Eunice Akagi, Steve Hanlon, Nora Dauenhauer, Irene Cadiente, Pat Arasmith and Andy Ebona.
We want to especially thank DIPAC for their generous donation of salmon to use as the main course and the cooks (Timothy Eide Sr. and William Lockhart), who did an exceptional job preparing the meal. We also want to thank everyone who brought in their delicious potluck dishes.
