Juneau is very lucky to have two good candidates running for mayor. When it comes to education and community service, however, one candidate is head and shoulders above the other. Bruce Botelho has been an active advocate for young Alaskans (Boy Scouts, Teen Club, Alaska Children's Trust) and public education for at least the last two-plus decades that I have called Juneau my home. His knowledge and skills would be put to good use on behalf of our schools and residents when the Alaska Legislature returns in January. I believe his leadership on the assembly would make a real difference for the residents and future of Juneau.
