Stop harsh treatment of President Obama

Posted: Monday, October 05, 2009

Society needs to stop judging and harassing President Obama.

Since president Obama took office, he has been attacked, harassed, insulted and abused as president of the United States. We need to understand that when Obama took office, the country was facing an economic crisis that rivaled the Great Depression of 1929, when the stock market crashed as a direct result of poor choices made by the administration. We must also recognize that racism is occurring in a way that looks like a flashback of the 1960s. Before Martin Luther King Jr. was assassinated, he was on track to become a president of the United States. However, racism did not permit that.

Also, I can believe that since this nation has a black president, Americans are writing and noticing more about the U.S. government. All those letters to the editor that attack the president show how racist society has become.

A hundred years from now, most of us will forgotten by our family members and the world we live in. As for President Obama, he has made history and will never be forgotten, in the present, in the future, or even 3,000 years from now. The president has and is still making a positive impact in our society. In conclusion, let us try to see the positive side of him and understand that we have a long road ahead with him as president since he will win again in 2012.
