A Juneau bus driver was injured when someone threw an object, shattering the front window of the bus.
Police said the object was thrown at about 9:50 p.m. Saturday, and the impact caused the glass to shatter and sprayed the driver with shards of glass, obscuring her vision. The driver was able to regain control of the vehicle, slowing it down and stopping along the side of the road near the seven-mile marker on Glacier Highway.
Police said the driver sustained lacerations to her left hand from the broken glass. She was taken to Bartlett Regional Hospital to treat her injury.
Police believe the object could have been a water balloon thrown from a vehicle moving in the opposite direction. The driver was sprayed with shards of glass and sustained cuts to her left hand.
Police said there were 14 passengers including two small children on the bus at the time. None were injured.
Anyone with information regarding the incident is encouraged to call the Juneau Police Department at 586-0600.
