George William Rogers

George William Rogers, 93, passed away Oct. 3, 2010 at his home in Juneau. He was born April 15, 1917 in San Francisco, but moved to Juneau in January, 1945, staying for the next 65 years. He was primarily an economist, but also worked as an author, university professor, and territorial consultant.

George is survived by his wife of 69 years Jean C. Rogers; children Shelley Thisser of Kodiak, Geoffrey (Diane) Rogers of Port Angeles, Wash., Sidney (Joseph) Fadaoff of Juneau, Garth Rogers of Juneau, and Sabrina Rogers of Juneau.

Memorials may be sent to Hospice and Homehealth, Juneau Catholic Community Service, senior services, or a Juneau performing arts organization of choice.
