Volunteers train search dogs at Birchwood

BIRCHWOOD - Search-and-rescue dogs and their handlers put in a day of training Sunday at Birchwood, about 15 miles northeast of Anchorage.

KTUU reports volunteers trained the Alaska Search and Rescue Dogs to follow a scent and to find bodies in the woods.

The group is listed in the Alaska Permanent Fund donation program.
