Juneau police, fire officials and state troopers reported:


• Capital City Fire and Rescue responded to a mobile home fire at 10:44 p.m. Tuesday on Village Street off Willoughby Avenue. No one was injured. Both residents were found outside. Smoke was coming from the windows and roof when firefighters arrived. The fire was extinguished at 10:50 p.m. The American Red Cross lodged the displaced residents at a motel.


• Police cited a 41-year-old Yakutat man at 3:24 p.m. Tuesday on a charge of concealing merchandise in the 600 Block of West Willoughby Avenue.

• Police arrested a 35-year-old man on charges of theft and criminal mischief after responding to a shoplifting call at 8:37 p.m. Tuesday in the 8100 block of Glacier Highway. They lodged him at the Lemon Creek Correctional Center.

Vehicle accident:

• Police cited an 18-year-old woman on a charge of failing to yield while making a left turn after an accident at 6:59 p.m. Tuesday at Riverside Drive and Vintage Boulevard. Police reported she was driving a 1998 Dodge Neon from Mendenhall Mall Road, striking a 1996 Ford Ranger driven by a 29-year-old man. Damage was estimated at $4,000 to the Dodge and $1,500 to the Ford.

Hit and run:

• At 3:02 p.m. Tuesday, a 1996 Dodge Caravan was reported struck while parked earlier in the day in the 8100 block of Glacier Highway.

Traffic stop:

• Police impounded a vehicle at 12:55 p.m. Tuesday at Troy Avenue and Highland Drive after citing the driver, a 16-year-old boy, on a charge of driving without a license.

Alcohol violation:

• Police cited a 36-year-old Anchorage man at 10:39 p.m. Tuesday on a charge of being drunk in a business licensed to serve alcohol in the 200 block of Front Street.

Animal encounters:

• A bear was reported eating garbage at 4:24 a.m. Wednesday after getting into a garbage shed in the 6500 block of Glacier Highway in the Lemon Creek area. Bears also were reported in the Lemon Creek area at 8:06 p.m. Tuesday, walking across Glacier Highway near the Lemon Creek Bridge, at 11:01 p.m. Tuesday near Alaway Avenue and at 12:08 a.m. Wednesday in the 1800 block of Northwood Drive.
