Grade: Kindergarten.

School: Gastineau Elementary School.

Art of choice: Painting.

Reason: "I love painting and I want to learn more about it! Artists use paint to swirl. ... I'm really good at painting pretty pictures. I think I'll go over to the easel and paint!"

Experience: Two years.

All in the family: "My whole family draws; my brother draws; my mom and dad write words. We paint with our old paints."

Favorite artists: "I like Michaela Jill Crabtree and Ray Troll."

Other interests: She also likes Brittany Spears, books and dancing. "I like to go hiking and see fish in my boat. I like to play with my mom and my dad and my brothers."

Teacher Jennifer Thompson says: "Michaela is an artist with an eye for color, shape and details. Her paintings stand out with bright reds
