Juneau resident Dario Penáno Catuiran, 89, died Oct. 2, 2006, at Wildflower Court in Juneau.

Born Oct. 17, 1917, he moved to Juneau from 1978. He was a municipal council member in the Philippines and a retired public official.
He is survived by his wife, Consolidacion Domingo Catuiran; daughters and son-in-laws of the Philippines, Celita and Luther Carillo, Nelia and Johnson Bautista, Rosie and Felino Igharas, and Joann and Leony Marcelino Sr.; daughters and son-in-laws of Juneau, Heide and Antonio Chavez Jr., Gloria and Robert Aguilar, and Gladys and Sunny Cantilero; grandchildren of the Philippines, Johngil Bautista, Nino Igharas, and Rex and Fejie De Felipe and family; grandchildren of Juneau, Randy and Sherwin Carillo, of California, and Ashley and Chelsee Cantilero.
A rosary service will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 7, at the Alaskan Memorial Park and Mortuary.
