Juneau police, fire officials and state troopers reported:
Thefts:
Police arrested a man, 18, for second-degree vehicle theft, a misdemeanor, and cited him for underage drinking at 8:12 p.m. Saturday near Patti Avenue.
A purse was reported stolen at 12:56 p.m. Sunday near the Mendenhall Wetlands parking area.
Vandalism and criminal mischief:
A broken window was reported at 2:47 p.m. Saturday near Glacier Highway. Damage is estimated at $150. Police could not locate the man they were told may have broken the window.
Animal encounters:
Bears were reported Saturday at 7:47 a.m. near Amalga Street, 8:59 a.m. near Point Stephens Road, 9:45 a.m. near Sunset Street, 9:45 a.m. near Point Stephens Road, 1:34 p.m. near Garnet Street, 4:33 p.m. near Point Stephens Road and 8:23 p.m. near Amalga Street.
Bears were reported Sunday at 2:16 a.m. near Abby Way, 5:27 p.m. near Mendenhall Loop Road and Mint Way, 5:58 p.m. near Davis Street and Lund Street and 8:32 p.m. near Northwood Drive.
Other:
Police arrested a man, 28, for violating a domestic violence protection order at 12:37 p.m. at an undisclosed location in Juneau. He was lodged at the state prison.
