NORTH POLE - The North Pole City Council decided not to admonish Councilman Doug Wilson for secretly recording a meeting that was closed to the public.
The Fairbanks Daily News-Miner reported the censure resolution failed Monday on a 2-5 vote.
Wilson, who was running for a second term in Tuesday's municipal election, said he was just keeping a personal record when he recorded a June 1 executive session on an ethics complaint.
Wilson destroyed the recording and said he never revealed discussions from the session.
