JUNEAU - A national tea party group says it raised over $35,000 during a radio-thon in support of Alaska Senate hopeful Joe Miller.
The California-based Tea Party Express bought two hours of airtime at an Anchorage radio station Monday for the radio-thon, a rally of sorts and fundraiser for Miller. Miller, a Fairbanks attorney, favors limiting the powers of the federal government to those spelled out in the Constitution and giving greater control to the states.
He upset Sen. Lisa Murkowski in the GOP primary. Murkowski has since gone on to run as a write-in candidate.
Tea Party Express reported spending more than $550,000 in support of Miller during the August primary. It has not said how much it's raised overall to help Miller since then.
