ANCHORAGE - Police say a man critically wounded another man and killed himself in a shooting at a midtown Anchorage parking lot.

Lt. Dave Parker says 22-year-old James Mitchell shot 25-year-old Aaron McClain in the chest about 2:20 a.m. Wednesday then shot himself in the head. A third person, 22-year-old Stephanie Kirchner, was not injured.

Parker says the three drove to the lot from a downtown bar after an argument broke out in the car.

Parker says Mitchell pulled out a gun and threatened Kirchner, who had been driving, then shot McClain before turning the gun on himself.

The woman told investigators the men were arguing about another woman.
