Juneau police, fire officials and state troopers reported:

Driving while intoxicated:

Marilou Lumba, 31, was arrested at 4:30 a.m. Sunday on Front Street for drunken driving. She was provided with courtesy transportation and released. The vehicle was impounded.

Officers responded to report of a vehicle in a ditch at 8:45 p.m. Sunday. Eric Arnett, 25, was arrested for drunken driving and driving with a blood-alcohol level over 0.10 percent. He was lodged at the Lemon Creek Correctional Center.

John Ross, 40, was arrested for drunken driving and driving with a suspended or revoked license at 1:30 a.m. today on Seward Street.


A silver push scooter, valued at $100, was reported stolen at 9:30 a.m. Saturday on Glacier Highway.

A Nokia cell phone, sunglasses and change were reported stolen from a vehicle at 11 a.m. Sunday on H Street in Douglas.

A briefcase was reported stolen from a vehicle at 9:15 p.m. Sunday on West 11th Street.

Animal complaints:

Police received four bear complaints between 9:30 a.m. Saturday and 1:30 a.m. today.


A man, 52, died from an apparently self-inflicted gunshot wound about noon Sunday on a trail near the Mendenhall Glacier Visitor Center.

The body of Jess Hall, 81, of Olympia, Wash., was recovered Sunday from the Ahrnklin River near Yakutat by the Yakutat police. He fell overboard from a jet boat about 2:45 p.m. Saturday after the vessel struck a log, the Coast Guard said. The Coast Guard and Yakutat police searched for Hall on Saturday until nightfall.

A man, 41, was arrested at 10:45 a.m. Sunday on Glacier Highway on an outstanding Wisconsin warrant charging him with failure to pay child support. He was taken to state prison.

A man, 34, was arrested at 7 p.m. Sunday at Marine Park on an outstanding Juneau police warrant for failure to appear in court. He was lodged at state prison.
