Prefers Murkowski on education

Posted: Wednesday, October 09, 2002

Frank Murkowski is the man for the job as governor of Alaska. He is behind superior education and cares for Alaska's children by supporting the full funding of K-12 schools to meet and exceed state benchmarks, as well as holding schools and students accountable for student learning. He is obviously a family man, with six grown children and numerous grandchildren - this alone speaks to the concern he has with the educational system as he holds personal stock in it.

Loren Leman is right beside him with three children of his own and his staunch support of Alaska's schools as well as the home-school bills for those who want or need to take their children's education into their own hands.

As a parent of five, a certified teacher and a home school parent for seven years, I am behind the Murkowski/Leman ticket because they stand firm in their beliefs in education and stand behind my children in their academic pursuits, no matter how our family goes about them.
