Concerts

"Impostor Recital: Works for Violin and Voice Performed on Trumpet," 7:30 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 11, at Aldersgate United Methodist Church, 9161 Cinema Drive. Tickets available at Hearthside Books or at the door. Students free with paid ticket holder.

Dance

Thursday Night Contra Dance, 7:30-9:45 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 9, at the Terry Miller Legislative Offices gymnasium. Live music with Juneau's "6th & Main Street" band and dance caller Tom Paul. Beginners are welcome and no partners are necessary. All dances are taught. Bring clean, soft-soled shoes for dancing. Details: 463-3214.

Scandinavian folk dance workshop featuring Seattle teacher Nola Irish, beginning at 9 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 11, at the Juneau Yacht Club. Four different sessions of 75 minutes will be offered at 9 and 10:30 a.m., 1:15 and 2:45 p.m., there will also be a 8 p.m. evening dance with live music. $6 per person per session, $20 for the day, $5 for evening dance.
