Sound off on the important issues at

• At about 12:31 p.m. Sunday, a 26-year-old man reported his 2001 Mitsubishi Eclipse had received about $1,000 in damage on Seward Street.

Traffic accidents:

• At about 3:07 p.m. Sunday, a 2004 Dodge pickup sustained $1,000 in damage when it struck a 2006 Chevrolet that sustained $5,000 in damage near 10th and F streets. The driver of the Dodge was cited for failure to yield, while the other driver was cited for an unsafe lane change and tinted windows.

• At about 7:41 a.m. Monday, a 2000 Toyota pickup sustained $5,000 in damage when it struck a 1999 Honda that sustained $3,000 in damage on Egan Drive. The driver of the Toyota was cited for failure to exercise due care to avoid an accident.

• At 4:22 p.m. Monday, a 2005 Dodge Neon, driven by a 23-year-old man, lost control and struck a tree off Glacier Highway. The driver, a 28-year-old woman and her two small children were transported to Bartlett Regional Hospital. None of the injuries appeared life-threatening.

Warrant arrest:

• At about 7:54 p.m. Sunday, a 21-year-old woman was arrested on a $200 warrant issued for failure to appear in the 3600 block of Amalga Street. She was lodged at Lemon Creek Correctional Center.


• At about 4:57 p.m. Sunday, a 16-year-old boy was arrested on a charge of shoplifting in the 9100 block of Mendenhall Mall Road. He was transported to Juneau Youth Center.


• At about 10:53 p.m. Sunday, a 16-year-old boy was reported fighting in the 3300 block of Tongass Boulevard.

Animal complaint:

• At about 1:09 a.m. Monday, police received a report of a bear getting into garbage in the 2800 block of Mendenhall Loop Road.

Lost property:

• At about 9:39 a.m. Monday, a black leather wallet containing identification and $66 was reported lost.

• At about 10:53 a.m. Monday, a red Milwaukee electric jackhammer was reported lost near Vanderbilt Hill Road.


• At about 10:52 a.m. Monday, a 29-year-old man reported the theft of a round Alpine Type-X speaker, valued at $500, and an Alpine model amplifier, valued at $350, in the 5900 block of Churchill Way.
