...for promoting child safety
I would like to thank a few organizations for being concerned and very helpful in promoting child passenger safety. On Saturday, Sept. 29, Evergreen Motors invited the Juneau Child Passenger Safety Technicians to their place of business to have a car seat check up event. It was very successful. We had 27 families come through and distributed 15 booster seats. I would also like to thank Toys R' Us in Anchorage for getting together almost 50 car seats very quickly and having them ready to be shipped here to Juneau in time for our car seat event. We also owe Lynden Transport a huge thank you for picking up and shipping our new car seats from Anchorage to Juneau as a donation to the Juneau Safe Kids Coalition. It really is because of all of these organizations and the technicians who volunteer that Juneau now has 27 children riding safer. For more information about child passenger safety, please call the Juneau Public Health Center at 465-3353.

On behalf of the JDHS Girls Volleyball team, I would like to thank Carrs, Costco, Fred Meyer, McDonalds, Super Bear Supermarket and the many parent volunteers for their donations of time and goods to host the Juneau Invitational Volleyball Extravaganza (JIVE) team luncheon on October 6. There were many teams from out of town participating and the luncheon was greatly appreciated by all.
