Juneau police, fire officials and state troopers reported:
Thefts:
A Dewalt cordless tool kit, Model XP, containing a cordless screwdriver, a charger and three batteries was reported stolen at 9:32 a.m. Wednesday near Teslin Street. The items, valued at $1,000, were stolen from a vehicle sometime Tuesday night.
An antique painting, valued at $3,000, was reported stolen at 4:32 p.m. Wednesday from a residence on Pioneer Avenue. The painting was stolen within the last month.
Vandalism and criminal mischief:
The side and rear windows of a 2001 Chevrolet Astro Safari van were reported broken at 11:23 a.m. Wednesday near Glacier Highway.
A mailbox was reported as dented beyond repair at 3:59 p.m. Wednesday near Glacier Highway.
Animal encounters:
Bears were reported Wednesday at 11:59 a.m. near Jennifer Drive, 1:42 p.m. near Thane Road, 5:11 p.m. near Glacier Highway, 6:20 p.m. near Jennifer Drive, 6:34 p.m. near Muir Street, 9:04 p.m. near Meander Way and 10:29 p.m. near Fifth Street in Douglas.
