More honors for JDHS cross country

JUNEAU - The Juneau-Douglas High School boys and girls cross country teams picked up more honors at the Alaska School Activities State Cross Country Championships in Palmer.

The Crimson Bears boys and girls both won the team academic awards, given to the teams with the highest cumulative grade point average.

Also, the Crimson Bears' boys team won the sportsmanship award in Palmer.

The teams are schedule to compete in the Nike Team Nationals Northwest Regional Qualifying Meet on Nov. 10 in Boise, Idaho. The top two teams in the regional race will automatically qualify for the Nike Team Nationals National Finals on Dec. 1 in Portland, Ore.

Also, four at-large teams from any of the nine regions will qualify for the high school national championships.
