There's just too much belly-aching about the asphalt plant. That's an industrial area and that's what it's zoned for. It's not zoned for houses. The industrial plant needs to go somewhere. If we want any kind of decent pavement it's going to take another asphalt plant for that to be a reality.
It's too bad that people believe that all teen-agers want to do is sit around and get high and skateboard.
They built the skate park for skating. If parents want control of their children they need to know. They didn't build it for drugs and alcohol. So, where are the parents?
Where's the proof that industrial tourism brings white-collar jobs?
SEARHC doesn't need to build another clinic, they need to build a hospital.
I was the caller that wanted people to stop calling in about people parking in handicapped spaces and about people not appearing handicapped, and I'd like to apologize to all handicapped people for my insensitive, uninformed comments. I realize now I was so wrong and I apologize. I hope I didn't offend anybody.
I went looking for the Taku House, but I couldn't find it. I need better directions.
The Alaska Marine Highway system wants to spend over $30 million for one high-speed aluminum ferry. Eventually they want to buy five of these boats. They say the aluminum ferries have a service life of 10-15 years. Spending all that money on ferries that only last 10-15 years is a waste.
The road is not a dead issue. The vote was essentially 50-50 and shows a large increase in support of the road. I see the vote as a pro-road success.
Madam mayor, please don't let them waste our money in Douglas. Take that extra $1.5 million and put it into our schools.
