Juneau police, fire officials and state troopers reported:
Assaults:
A man, 20, was arrested for domestic violence assault at 2:29 a.m. today near West Juneau. He was lodged at the Lemon Creek Correctional Center.
Thefts:
A man reported at 1:18 p.m. Wednesday near Twelfth Street that the dashboard was ripped out of his Ford Escort sometime between 10 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Wednesday. His CD player, amplifier and tri-box speakers were stolen. The stolen items were valued at $2,250.
A woman, 43, was cited and released for theft at 10:29 p.m. Wednesday at the Auke Bay Ferry Terminal.
Vehicle accidents:
Police cited a man, 18, for following too closely after a two-vehicle accident at 2:37 p.m. Wednesday near Salmon Creek Lane. The man, driving a Honda Accord, struck a Chevrolet pickup driven by a man, 38. The Honda sustained $1,500 in damage and the pickup sustained $200 in damage.
Animal encounters:
A man reported at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday that a car struck a bear on Douglas Highway. The bear was not found.
Bears also were reported Wednesday at 12:27 p.m. near North Douglas Highway and today at 6:55 a.m. near Stephen Richards Memorial Drive.
