Thanks for contributing to the sixth annual Autumn Festival

Posted: Sunday, October 11, 2009

I would like to send a resounding thank you to everyone who made the sixth annual Autumn Festival, held Sept. 19 at the Juneau Arts & Culture Center, a success. I would like to thank all the vendors who provided the wonderful wares and food available, and the community who came out to support them.

I would especially like to thank Specialty Imports and Alaskan Brewing who went above and beyond, donating a large and fantastic array of beers to the AF beer garden which allowed the Autumn Festival to donate over $500 to Coastal CODE, a non-profit granting organization focusing on ocean health, created from the sales of Alaskan IPA.

I would also like to thank Riley and Kai Crocker and their crew who did a fantastic job running the Sparkling Garden, and Lindsay who kept kids entertained with art projects.

To all the people who participated in the International Coastal Clean-up and came down to the Autumn Festival afterward for a reception, thank you for doing your part cleaning up our coast lines.

And finally, congratulations to Kathy Green for winning Best of Show at the Autumn Pour homebrew competition, and Ann Metcalfe for organizing the competition itself.

It was the community and everyone who participated in this year's Autumn Festival which kept the event growing, getting bigger and better every year. I really appreciate everyone's show of support, which is what makes this event a true success.
