Am I supposed to believe that the supporters of Ballot Measure 1 are trying to "protect wildlife" and "the Alaskan Way of Life" by taking away my right to say how wildlife is managed? You've got to be kidding.
What the supporters of Measure 1 are really trying to protect is the long-standing privilege of sport and trophy hunters, who for years have been flying their fully equipped camps into village subsistence areas and pillaging the moose, caribou and sheep that Alaska natives depend on for their livelihood and cultural survival.
I'm sorry, but I'm not willing to change the state constitution and surrender my rights as a citizen to speak, and vote to help a special interest group preserve its unfair advantages.
If you want to keep your rights, vote no on 1.
