Whitney Davis, 22, of Juneau, was the only Southeast representative competing in track and field at the recent 2007 Special Olympics World Summer Games in Shanghai, China.
Davis won two fourth-place metals in the 100- and 200-meter races. Davis also competed in sprints and the long jump.
He and three others finished the 4x100 relay with a time of 1:24.53, taking second place.
Immediately after the race, Davis said he felt "great" about his performance.
