Hobbies: Hiking, dog-walking, golf, gardening, racquetball

Occupation: Retired teacher; taught math, technology and special education at Juneau-Douglas High School and Floyd Dryden Middle School and math classes at the University of Alaska Southeast

Years as a survivor: 11

"It's hard to get news that you have cancer but Dr. (Bill) Palmer made things go smoothly and made me feel better about the whole process. We did everything we could under bad circumstances to get past it."
