A public celebration of life for George Rogers will be held 1-4 p.m. May 1, 2011 at Centennial Hall.
His daughter, Sidney Fadaoff, said, "It takes that long to arrange it so well to honor a man who did so much and touched so many lives, his work, his family and hobbies, his whole life meant so much. It's a proper tribute to a great Alaskan."
Rogers, a key statehood figure, died Oct. 3 at age 93.
Rogers served as a technical consultant to the Alaska Constitutional Convention and was considered an economic architect who helped shape the territory of Alaska into the nation's 49th state.
A private funeral was held last week.
