ANCHORAGE - Calista Corp. says its board of directors has terminated the longtime president and chief executive of the Native corporation.
Matthew Nicolai, who has been on leave, is the subject of a sexual and workplace harassment lawsuit filed in August by the former president of a Calista subsidiary.
Calista spokesman Lincoln Garrick says an independent investigator looked into the allegations for the board.
Garrick says he can not discuss the findings because it is a personnel matter. But he adds the board acted Sunday to terminate Nicolai based on the findings.
The 57-year-old Nicolai could not immediately be reached for comment Monday.
At the same meeting Sunday, the board appointed acting CEO Andrew Guy to replace Nicolai on a permanent basis.
