Juneau police, fire officials and state troopers reported:
Driving while Intoxicated:
Gerald Duane Smith, 53, was arrested at 3 a.m. Saturday near Egan Drive and Salmon Creek for drunken driving. He was lodged at the Lemon Creek Correctional Center.
Christopher Kenneth Prindle, 31, was arrested at 3 a.m. Saturday near Mendenhall Loop Road for drunken driving. He was lodged at the state prison.
Assaults:
At 4:15 a.m. Saturday in the Mendenhall Valley a man, 35, was arrested for domestic violence assault. He was lodged at the state prison.
Thefts:
At 8:30 a.m. Friday near Northwood Drive a woman reported that a CD player, CDs, computer programs and a backpack were stolen from her vehicle in late August.
At 8:30 a.m. Friday near Thunder Mountain Road a man reported that a black dipnet were stolen from his yard a month ago.
At 9:45 a.m. Friday near Meander Way a man reported that a portable CD player were stolen from his vehicle in July.
At 11:40 a.m. Friday near Forest Lane a man reported that his wallet had been stolen from his unlocked vehicle.
At noon Friday near Glacier Highway a man reported that his Nokia cell phone was stolen on Sept. 30.
At 12:15 p.m. Friday near Glacier Avenue a girl, 14, was placed under citizen's arrest for shoplifting. She was released to a relative.
At 1 p.m. Friday near Willoughby Avenue a man, 22, was arrested for shoplifting and lodged at the state prison.
At 2:15 p.m. Friday near Marine Way a man reported that two spotlights worth $200 had been stolen from his parked truck overnight.
Vandalism and criminal mischief:
At 2 p.m. Friday near Amalga Street a man reported that a window on his house had been broken.
At 8:15 p.m. Friday near Evergreen Park Road a person reported that Halloween decorations had been stolen and the house "toilet-papered."
At 3:20 a.m. Saturday near F Street a man, 23, was arrested for criminal mischief. He was lodged at the state prison.
Underage drinking:
At 2:35 a.m. Saturday near Glacier Highway and Auke Lake a man, 18, was cited for driving after drinking and sixth-degree drug misconduct. He was released and the vehicle impounded.
Vehicle accidents:
At 8 a.m. Friday near Mendenhall Loop Road and Mendenhall Mall Road a 2001 Dodge Neon driven by a woman, 23, struck a 1984 Jeep driven by a man, 45. The Neon had $2,500 damage, the Jeep $150 damage.
At 3 p.m. Friday near Sunny Drive a 1996 Chevy pickup driven by a woman, 51, struck a parked 1999 Dodge pickup. The driver was cited for careless driving. The Chevy had $10,000 damage, the Dodge $4,000 damage.
At 4:30 p.m. Friday a man, 28, reported he had been hit by a city bus near Fourth and Main streets. He declined medical attention. The police are investigating.
Animal encounters:
Bears were reported Friday at 7:40 a.m. near Taku Boulevard, 8:30 a.m. near Taku Boulevard, 10:30 a.m. near Pinedale Street, 1:20 p.m. near Park Place, and 3:45 p.m. near Glacier Highway.
A bear was reported at 6:30 a.m. Saturday near Egan Drive and Switzer.
Domestic violence calls: 1.
Alcohol-related calls: 4.
