I have one very important question for voters in Alaska. It has less to do with partisan politics, but everything to do with jobs. Would you vote for a U.S. Senate candidate who would cause Alaska's senior senator, Ted Stevens, to no longer be in the Senate Majority leadership? If Sen. Stevens is reduced to the minority and loses his strong leadership position because of a Knowles victory, who in Alaska is best served?
Democrats and Republicans alike better think long and hard over this question before they cast their vote. A Knowles victory would be a financial disaster for Alaska. Recent reports show that Sen. Stevens is responsible for 45,000 jobs in Alaska. Stevens' ability to continue that level of federal funding would simply disappear if he loses his majority leadership because of a Knowles win. It would take Knowles decades to generate that kind of impact in the U.S. Senate. Voting for Lisa will protect those 45,000 jobs. Simple as that.
Keep Stevens in the majority leadership. Protect our important jobs.
