Hurray Mr. J. Marc Mulkey (letters to the editor, Oct. 12). I couldn't have said it any better than what you did, as these have been my same thoughts for weeks, as I continued to read letters to the editor daily. I was beginning to think I was the only person in Juneau that wasn't a Bush-basher, but I know that couldn't be true, because I belong to two local organizations where we have discussed the upcoming election, and also in the course of conversation with family and friends, the majority of them are voting for President Bush.
I also wondered if it was possible that the Empire was biased, and only printing letters from left-wing liberals that get their kicks out of Bush bashing, but I didn't want to believe that, as I've been a subscriber for many years and would pull my subscription immediately if I thought that was true.
I've come to the conclusion after reading many of these hate-filled letters that the Democrats would sell our great country down the road just to get Bush out of office. They don't seem to care who is running against our president - they would vote for the opposition.
At one time I thought I was a Democrat because my grandma was such a staunch Democrat, and I looked up to her as I was growing up, but I would be embarrassed to say I was a Democrat now and was voting for John Kerry.
Anyone that has lied as much as he has (or changed his mind over and over again) couldn't possibly be capable of running our country. It would be frightening. It will be interesting to see if this letter is printed.
